Cashier

A supermarket front end where you are never on your own, with the rota fixed a month ahead. Saturdays are the busy one; Sundays run shorter and quieter.

You scan, bag and take payment, check ages on alcohol and tobacco, and count your drawer down at the end of every shift. When the queue clears you move to the service desk for returns, loyalty cards and parcel pick-ups, or help face up the shelves near the front.

You are friendly at speed and careful with money. Your first two shifts are paired with a trained colleague, so nothing here needs experience.
